Know of any good movies?

If anyone knows of any good movies out there- please let me know! Maybe it's a stupid thing to be asking for.. I've seen so many and I'm so disappointed with recent movies and their stupid anticlimactic endings that make me want to throw things.

Maybe if anyone could recommend a good book instead? I've read a lot of those too, but there's sooo many books I haven't read..hmm does anyone even read this shit? probably not.

  1. A few that you may enjoy.

    1. In the Soup- It has slum lords who sing a cappella. I know it's amazing.

    2. Living in Oblivion- indi film about making an indi film with a lot of work with color and reality shift. There is a midget who insults the director for hiring him to act in a dream sequence because midgets don't even dream of midgets.

    3. The Hours- three women living in three different time related by Mrs. Dalloway. The women are Virgina Woolf who is writing the text. A woman in the 50's who is reading and awakening from the book. A woman in modern times who is living the book. This is an absolutely fantastic movie.

If you want some interesting videos to check out now on the internet. I highly recommend the 8 min. short film Depth Solitude link to it on google video

Hope this helps alleviate the meh.

  3. Thank you very much for taking the time to even read my blog and to post suggestions. I haven't watched these so I'll try to find them online and hopefully enjoy them. I see you've posted a few links for some.. I like watching movies on youtube and google video. I've never got a virus from either. I just finished watching another documentary about the Donner Party. It was interesting. I love documentaries. I use to have a really good site full of documentaries and I can't remember what it was called now. I'll have to ask the friend who originally showed it to me.... anyway, thanks again for your suggestions :)

  4. Not a problem.

You write well in a style that I find pretty damn funny (mix of sarcasm, crass, and brutal honesty).

The one's I attached links to are only little short artsy films, and vimeo is about as safe as youtube. That site actually draws quite a few interesting folk (indi film students and the like looking to share their work). Personally, I don't see where one is better than the other so I just put my little project things on youtube.

I usually have to be in a specific mood to watch a documentary, I am more inclined to read instead of watch, mostly because when reading I can control the narration speed.

I don't care that is was 4am on a gloomy night Mr. Dark Scary Narrator Voice. I wanna know who shot Mr. Pennyapple; and your slow, plodding, build suspense talk is making me hope the next documentary I watch is on the death of Mr. Dark Scary Narrator Voice at the paws of marauding raccoons.

  5. I haven't gotten the chance to watch the Mark Osborne one yet, but I LOVE the Fallen Art Channel. Amazing. Thank you very much for showing me this.

I love documentaries, but i only watch them when I'm in the mood for them. I have ADHD and ADD and even though I love them- I have to be in the mood to watch them. I agree with you about reading books over watching movies. I read incredibly fast. I'm like superman =)
